Bobbi underwent a Caesarean section, performed by more than 40 specialists. Four boys and three girls were born two months premature. From then on, Kenny, Kelsey, Natalie, Brandon, Alexis, Nathan and Joel were dubbed the “Seven From Heaven.”

Bobbi McCaughey took the fertility drug Pergonal. When she conceived seven fetuses, doctors offered the couple to abort some, which would imply lesser risks for the rest of them.
These risks could include cerebral palsy, brain damage, blindness, mental retardation or motor problems. But McCaugheys’ religious beliefs made them decide to forgo any abortions.
